Mr. Baker was born in Burien, WA where he also went to Highline high school. He has been practicing personal injury law since being admitted to the bar in 2008. His understanding of not just the medicine but also the physical and psychological impact of his clients' injuries and treatments stems in good measure from all the sports-related injuries he's had requiring similar treatment.
Winter sports like alpine touring, downhill skiing, and cross country skate skiing remain his passion when he's not at the office or in court. He has traveled to over 30 countries, mostly on his own starting at age 15, as a result of his keen interest in language, history, culture - and his drive not to be in Burien any longer than he had to be. He was even once pretty good at speaking Swedish after spending his gap year between high school and university in Sweden, and he hopes to return one day soon for an extended visit to brush up on it.
"An intimate knowledge of the law and the judicial system gives influence. I believe that the purpose of influence is not to build one's ego or net worth; the purpose of influence is to speak up for those without it."
